Bellwether Agriculture uses a Sequencing Batch Reactor Biological Nutrient Removal (or PCTP/SBR-BNR) process to recycle effluent waste water.

PCTP/SBR reactors treat direct waste water flows such as municipal sewage, industrial waste and effluent from biowaste treatment systems like anaerobic digesters, providing at decant a high quality recycled water source.

Increasing environmental consciousness means that conventional municipal and industrial waste treatment systems no longer meet World's Best Practise. Traditional effluent lagoons rely heavily on evaporation, losing vast volumes of valuable water and methane gas into the atmosphere. Technologically advanced confined waste treatment systems like the IBR and PCTP/SBR-BNR reduce pollutants by collecting natural gases and water that would otherwise be sacrificed. The water and gas can then be harnessed to produce Green energy and water recycled to Class A standard.

As well as being environmentally beneficial, the treatment and reuse of recycled wastewater creates significant reductions in the consumption of fresh water and therefore delivers an economic and environmental incentive to industry and communities.

Bellwether Agriculture's PCTP/SBR-BNR systems are suitable for industry applications, but also allow wastewater treatment to the highest standard (Class A) for small or remote communities due to their compact design and reduced maintenance and operation requirements.

Importantly, the contained design of the PCTP/SBR-BNR system removes the problem of odour and pollution via pathogens caused by current inefficient effluent handling methods. These issues severely impact the viability, scale and location of many rural and municipal industries.
